Course Objectives

• Understand Java programming environment and features.
• Gain the knowledge and experience needed to work as a Java application programmer.
• Design, develop, modify, maintain, test, debug, and run Java applications utilizing Java object-oriented programming features, Java Applets, Java API, file/stream I/O, error handling, and threads.
• Describe the object-oriented concepts enforced by the Java programming language.
• Gain the knowledge on the Java class hierarchy.
• Use the Java classes and inherited sub-classes in developing Java programs.
• Develop Windows and graphical-user-interface based programs in Java.
• Utilize Java graphical and drawing capabilities, including swing, in writing Java programs.
